In the 1950s, a surveyor’s job was not always a safe one – trespassing on rural roads and in highway traffic. They needed clothing made in bright schemes to make sure they were seen. Or was it because they didn’t want to be confused with they highway patrol checking on speeding cars? Whatever the reason, it seems only fitting that we would release this exquisite surveyor’s tripod lamp in classic black and ivory. Like their fifty-year-old originals, they are made of lightly distressed wood and brass, and will survive the ages.
